In the world of The Complex, the land has been nearly destroyed. It's a version of Earth that was even less well-cared for than our real-life planet. As we gather here in a virtual setting to share time and space, we must not forget the grounds that we walk on outside of our doors.
For us, it is the traditional territories of the many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat people. Acknowledging the land and the original caretakers is a step in the right direction, but we encourage you to do more. For this production, we are proud to highlight Native Women in the Arts, a wonderful organization we are pleased to support.
Please, take a moment to reflect on the steps you have or will take in your own journey of accountability and reconciliation.
